Reading 1
A reading from the book of Genesis.
King Melchizedek of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High. 19 He blessed him and said,
“Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth, and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!”
And Abram gave him one-tenth of everything.

The Response to the Psalm is:
R. You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”[
The Lord says to my lord, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.”
R. You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
2 The Lord sends out from Zion your mighty scepter.
Rule in the midst of your foes.
R. You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
3 Your people will offer themselves willingly on the day you lead your forces on the holy mountains. From the womb of the morning, like dew, your youth will come to you.
R. You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”[
4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
R. You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”[
Reading 2
A reading from the first letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians
Brothers and sisters:
23 For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
